Kodiak Building Partners expanded its Colorado operations today with the announcement that it has acquires substantially all the operating assets of Drywall Material Sales, a specialty dealer in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

“We’ve been interested in joining forces with Drywall Material Sales for many years, and look forward to supporting the growth trajectory that the Drywall Material Sales team is on and feel they will be a significant contributor to Kodiak’s future," Kodiak Chairman Paul Hylbert said in a news release.

Kodiak CEO Steve Swinney noted the Drywall Material Sales manaagement team will remain with the company, which provides building products for residential and commercial drywall contractors. Kodiak already owns a similar Colorado-based firm in Jones Heartz Building Supply, which has operations in Denver and Loveland. Kodiak also owns Aurora, Colo.-based Barton Supply, which specializes in steel goods like rebar.

With the acquisition, Kodiak now has 36 locations in Texas, Colorado, Michigan, Delaware, Maryland and New England. Collectively they sell a wide variety of building materials.
