Atlas Roofing’s new Natural Expressions collection adds five nature-inspired colors to its Pinnacle Pristine high-performance shingle collection. Coastal Granite and Summer Storm offer deep and light gray color variations, while Morning Harvest is a warm golden-brown. Copper Canyon’s tarnished brown is inspired by the Old West, and Majestic Shake’s color blend evokes venerable trees.
The palette’s varied shades are created through a proprietary manufacturing process in which drops of different colors are added to the dragon’s tooth and shim, creating increased color depth. “These colors, which are ‘inspired by nature and designed for you,’ will help homeowners express their personal style on the exterior of their homes,” says Paul Casseri, product manager for Atlas Roofing.
The Pinnacle Pristine shingles are equipped with 3M’s Scotchgard Protector, a series of copper granules that provide protection against black streaks caused by algae growth. Shingles with the new Natural Expressions palette also feature HP42” Technology with a 1 1/2-inch nailing area, as well as a double FASTAC adhesive sealant line designed to hold firm in winds of up to 130 mph.
“The reason we can accomplish this high-wind warranty is because we’re thermally sealing the back fiberglass mat of this shingle,” Casseri explains. “That’s where all the strength is coming from.”
