MI Windows and Doors released a new energy-efficient window system featuring krypton-enhanced insulated glass. The glass is available with MI’s 1650 double-hung, 1650 fixed, and 1685 double-slider triple-pane windows. MI says krypton is denser than the more commonly used argon, making it more effective at blocking or at least decreasing the flow of heat in and out of homes. The firm says krypton gives its windows a U-value of 0.17 as opposed to 0.21 for traditional argon glass.
DuPont Flexwrap EZ is a self-adhering flashing tape designed to seal small exterior penetrations. The tape is 2¾ inches wide by 15 feet. DuPont says it’s ideal for smaller electrical, HVAC, and plumbing penetrations to help improve the energy efficiency and durability of a wall system. Flexwrap is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and 270 days of UV exposure, and it reduces air leakage throughout the building envelope, the company says.
ProVia‘s Willowbrook Super Polymer Siding is a 0.042-inch panel that comes in six profiles and 22 colors. The firm says the panel’s rollover rail guards prevent nails from being nailed in too tightly and add rigidity and durability to the panel. ProVia also says the panels have better wind resistance with the post-formed lock system. Drop guards prevent the panel from dropping out of lock during installation. The siding comes in a cedar woodgrain finish.
National Nail released its newly upgraded 18-gauge Stinger CS150B Cap Stapler for installing roofing under-layments, housewrap, and foamboard. It’s designed to be easier to load, with a longer tool life and adjustable exhaust. It can shoot 200 caps and 200 staples before reloading, and now offers operating pressure up to 120 psi. The Stinger CS150B shoots four sizes of 18-gauge staples with full 1-inch plastic caps. It includes a carrying case.
Sherwin-Williams’ SuperDeck Solid Color Stain is now available with Cool Feel color technology, developed to reduce deck surface temperatures by up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The stain can be applied to any new, weathered, or previously stained wood surface, and may be applied to most composites. Sherwin-Williams says it can also be applied to damp surfaces, allowing them to be prepped and stained inside one day. It comes in 20 colors.
