Thermally-modified hardwood producers Thermory and Ha Serv plan to merge their business operations, creating the world’s largest producer of thermally-modified wood and associated products.

Thermory, headquartered in Estonia, creates a number of thermally-modified wood products and installation systems, using heat and steam to create wood products with increased durability and moisture resistance, according to the manufacturer. Ha Serv specializes in thermally-modified sauna materials and ready-made saunas, with production facilities in Estonia and in Finland.

The combined company intends to use its resources to improve its operations, customer service capabilities, and product development processes.

“Thermory and Ha Serv are the most technically-sophisticated producers of thermally-modified wood in the world so this merger really is an exciting time in terms of future product development across all our categories,” says Kevin DeMars, Principal of Thermory USA. “And it will immediately yield substantial savings in raw materials and production costs, allowing the overarching Thermory brand to accelerate its growth throughout the U.S. and Canada.”

The current offering of Thermory products will remain available in the U.S. and Canada through Thermory USA over the course of the merger. New products and product categories are in development across the combined company.
