Nylboard LLC, the maker of decking, porch, and sheet products manufactured primarily from recycled carpet fibers, announced today it has ceased production of all products.
"Doug Morse, Nylboard president and COO, shared that Nyloboard’s venture capital owner has decided to no longer fund the business. Per Morse, the business, including all assets, is for sale as an operating entity. Should a buyer not emerge quickly, all assets will be liquidated.”
Nyloboard's LBM customers already have been notified about the closure and have had their individual situations handled, Morse told ProSales in an interview.
Nyloboard was unusual in the decking business because it wasn't made from wood or PVC. It was manufactured at a plant in Covington, Ga., east of Atlanta and in the same state that's home to many of the nation's biggest carpet manufacturers.
