Thermory USA has added a new color option, Drift, which mimics the look and texture of reclaimed wood on the manufacturer’s thermally-modified wood decking and cladding. The new color was created to satisfy a popular demand for weathered-looking wood, which has spread from interior applications into exterior spaces.
“The grey, rustic patina of reclaimed barnwood is quite popular and can look amazing, but its availability and performance can be so unpredictable,” says Kevin DeMars, principalof Thermory USA. “Our thermally-modified decking and cladding Drift product line offers architects and builders the rustic/weathered look they want, while also being readily available and offering dependable performance for their projects.”
Thermory’s thermally-modified wood, which is treated in Estonia using only heat and moisture, is a dimensionally stable product that offers enhanced strength and durability, according to the manufacturer. The treated wood also carries a Class 1 durability rating for rot and decay resistance for 25 years or more. It contains no toxins or plastics, and stays cool to the touch.
Drift decking is available in silver/grey on white ash or Scots pine wood, while Drift cladding is available in seven grey/silver color options on white ash or spruce wood. The decking features both solid and grooved profiles which can be installed using a hidden fastening system, while the cladding is designed for a blind fastener installation. thermoryUSA.com
