Building products distributor SRS Distribution announced a partnership with the United States Army Partnership for Youth Success Program (PaYS). The PaYS program is a partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross-section of corporations, companies, and public sector agencies. The PaYS guarantees soldiers and ROTC cadets interviews and possible employment after the Army.

“Leaving the army is one of the most challenging things soldiers have to face,” Luis Moyano, veteran program manager at SRS, said in a news release. “Programs like PaYS give hope to those that are leaving the military that they will find civilian employment.”

SRS previously committed to hiring 500 new veteran employees by 2023, and currently has reached 469 hires.

“We are doubling our goal of hiring 500 veteran employees, and now are aiming to have 1000 new hire veterans working at our company within the next five years,” Dan Tinker, SRS president and CEO, said. “SRS is honored to sign this pledge today to solidify our partnership with the U.S. Army PaYS program, and we look forward to continuing to give back to those in our armed forces.”

McKinney, Texas-based SRS Distribution is a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners and Berkshire Partners. SRS operates a family of distinct local brands encompassing more than 500 locations across 44 states.
