Scientists from the Universities of Maryland and Colorado have developed and designed a new type of wood that radiates heat away, creating the potential for building materials that can help save on electric bills, Tech Explorist reports. The new material, if used on a building’s exterior, could drop a building’s temperature by as much as 50 degrees Farenheit and reduce cooling costs as much as 35%.
