Forest products and LBM producer Roseburg announced the promotion of Matthew Sally and the hiring of Kara Herron. Sally will now serve as the company’s supply chain and logistics manager for Roseburg’s eastern region while Herron joined the company as strategic marketing manager.
In his new role, Sally will lead the transportation and logistics team within his region, assisting in the development and implementation of logistics strategies and collaborating across the organization to meet the company’s business objectives. Sally will report to director of supply chain and logistics Rick Whitmore and work closely with Andrea Stratton, the supply chain and logistics manager for Roseburg’s western region.
Sally recently served as the procurement manager at Roseburg’s Pembroke MDF plan in Ontario, Canada. The newly appointed supply chain and logistics manager has 20 years of supply chain experience, including roles in international trade, customs compliance, shipping, procurement, transportation logistics, distribution, and inventory management, according to the company.
The newly hired Herron will be based in Roseburg’s eastern regional office near Atlanta, Ga., and will provide marketing leadership and help build the infrastructure needed to support the company’s strategic growth plan, according to Roseburg. Herron will help evaluate Roseburg’s marketing maturity, benchmarking it against best marketing practices, and develop strategic, technology-enabled solutions.
“Continuing the work our commercial organization started in January of this year through the creation of a strategic business management team, Kara will work closely with this team developing and executing marketing plans to support our business strategies and create value for our clients,” Roseburg marketing director Dawn Garcia said in a news release. “We are very excited to add this important marketing function to our commercial team.”
Herron most recently served as a brand marketing leader for wide-format digital printer manufacturer Mimaki USA. Herron has also served as a customer communications manager at WestRock Packaging Company and in marketing and communication leadership roles at Kimberly-Clark Professional and Acuity Brands Lighting.
Springfield, Ore.-based Roseburg manufactures softwood and hardwood plywood, lumber, LVL, I-joists, particleboards, and laminates. The privately-owned company owns and manages more than 600,000 acres of timberland in Oregon, North Carolina, and Virginia.
