Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, acquired Master Block, a concrete block manufacturer located in El Mirage, Ariz. Oldcastle said the addition of Master Block’s manufacturing assets will complement its existing production of hardscapes, masonry, and fencing products in the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome Master Block to the Oldcastle APG family, strengthening our masonry and fence block production in the greater Phoenix area,” Tim Ortman, president of Oldcastle APG, said. “With Master Block’s impressive assets and performance, we will enhance our existing plant network, optimize our production of high-quality concrete block, and improve our ability to meet demand in what has proven to be an attractive growth market.”
Master Block will integrate into Oldcastle APG’s portfolio in the region, which hosts a division of its concrete block, hardscapes, and packaged concrete mix operations.

The company’s product portfolio includes hardscapes, concrete masonry, fencing and railing, bagged dry mixes, lawn and garden, pool finishes, and composite decking. The Oldcastle brand portfolio includes Belgard, Echelon, Barrette Outdoor Living, Sakrete, Amerimix, Pebble Technology International, and MoistureShield.
