The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) released the organization’s 2023 National Policy Agenda. The document is a comprehensive advocacy agenda for 2023, which outlines important policy priorities for the lumber and building materials industry that will boost the housing and construction industry and support continued job creation across the economy, according to the NLBMDA.
“NLBMDA members are essential to the national supply chain for building and residential construction,” Jonathan Paine, president and CEO of NLBMDA, said in a prepared statement. “Our policy agenda highlights areas for Congress and the White House to collaborate and implement meaningful policy that will allow small businesses to thrive while strengthening the U.S. economy with new jobs and affordable housing options for Americans in every part of the country.”
The policy agenda is divided into eight policy areas: housing and construction; tax and economic policy; legal reform and consumer protection; workforce policy; environment, health and safety; product supply and trade; energy; and transportation and fleet safety.
