Nation’s Best Holdings named Jace Mattinson as chief operating officer (COO) across the company’s growthing coast to coast portfolio of lumber yards, home centers, and hardware stores.

Mattinson first joined the company as chief financial officer (CFO), bringing experience in private equity and previous LBM experience as CFO and division president at Higginbotham Brothers and US LBM, respectively. Nation’s Best said Mattinson has embraced expanding spheres of responsibility, encompassing the oversight of fleet and safety, along with the management of the company’s IT department.

“In a short period of time, Jace has proven that he can tackle any problem, big or small, while managing with respect, dignity, and in perfect harmony with our company culture,” Chris Miller, president and CEO of Nation’s Best Holdings, said in a prepared statement. “He is a natural born leader, with a phenomenal work ethic, and I couldn’t be more excited to have him collaborate with the already amazing operational management teams we have in place.”

Mattinson will work closely with Nation’s Best’s regional leadership team to oversee the daily operations of all Nation’s Best locations. The company said he will steer the implementation of the organization’s strategic direction, while fostering the delivery of “exceptional customer service to patrons across the country.”

“I am truly honored and excited to take on this new role and challenge at Nation’s Best,” Mattinson said. “This opportunity will allow me to work even more closely with many of our amazing team members. Additionally, I look forward to working closer with many of our valued industry partners, vendors, and customers. I am grateful for the support and collaboration of our team, and I am excited to help lead our efforts in shaping a dynamic and prosperous future for our company and the industry as a whole.”

Nation’s Best, founded in 2019, owns and operates 51 locations in 15 states.
