The Massachusetts Retail Lumber Dealers Association (MRLDA) elected Kevin Costa, business analyst at National Lumber, as the president of the association. Costa has served on the MRLDA board for a number of years and has worked for the National Lumber family of companies since 2002.
National Lumber said Costa has been instrumental in the company’s successful transition to using BisTrack and is currently developing the company’s online store.
Costa said one the main focuses he plans during his tenure as president of the MRLDA is to help guide the board in broadening membership beyond traditional lumberyards to other building material retailers.
“The more members we can have in our organization the louder our voice will be and the stronger our organization will become,” Costa said in a prepared statement.
Costa said he will also focus on communicating to the public, especially young people, the opportunities within the LBM industry and the role the industry plays in providing jobs and paths to careers.
“Our industry has so many stories of individuals working their way up to be successful members of our communities,” Costa said. “I want us to share those stories and excite people to join our vital industry.”
