An employee at window manufacturer MI Windows and Doors’ Hegins, Pa., facility recently tested positive for COVID-19, according to an email from the company’s marketing department.

The employee last worked on March 13 and began experiencing symptoms on Sunday, March 15. The employee has not returned to work since experiencing the symptoms.

After receiving notification of the positive test result on March 21, MI Windows and Doors contacted a remediation contractor to analyze the situation, according to the email. The remediation contractor determined the work area safe to occupy after considering the time since the member was last at work along with MI Window and Doors’ cleaning practices and adherence to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

“We will continue supporting the affected team member as they recover from this virus at home with their family,” MI Windows and Doors CEO Matt DeSoto said in a public statement. “I’m confident in our approach to dealing with the risks associated with COVID-19 and providing our team with tools and resources to make safe and practical decisions about how we lead our business during these trying times.”

MI Windows and Doors has plants in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Arizona, and provides products for both the new construction and replacement markets.
