Joanne Corum, senior vice president and chief information officer at McCoy’s Building Supply, has been awarded with the 2023 ORBIE for organizations with over $1.5 billion in annual revenue. The ORBIE Awards is a technology executive recognition program, honoring chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.
“It’s such an honor to be selected from this impressive group,” Corum said in a prepared statement. “I’m thrilled to be the recipient of this award, but I’m even more thrilled for our McCoy’s team to receive external recognition for their excellent work that improves our business and allows us to serve our customers better. I am blessed to work with such a talented team at McCoy’s.”
Finalists and winners of the ORBIE Awards are selected by an independent peer review process led by prior ORBIE recipients based upon leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.

Corum worked for more than 10 years at IBM and Applied Materials before joining McCoy’s in 2016. She currently serves on the CIS Advisory Board at the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, is a member of the Workday CIO Advisory Council, and advises several other technology boards.
San Marcos, Texas-based McCoy’s Building Supply operates 85 stores, three distribution centers, and two millwork facilities in three states.
