Hurd Windows and Doors announced on Wednesday that its Superseal Windows and Doors subsidiary will open a new manufacturing facility in Merrill, Wis. The opening will expand Superseal's market presence into the Midwest and western parts of the country. Superseal already operates a manufacturing facility in South Plainfield, N.J.

Superseal was acquired by Hurd last January and is mostly focused on the East Coast market. Hurd, based in Medford, Wis., said having both facilities in Wisconsin will allow the companies to expand their market offerings. Superseal will begin manufacturing at the facility this fall.

"Demand for the product is there," said Hurd president and CEO Dominic Truniger. "Customers are excited to buy our vinyl windows and patio doors all over the U.S. and internationally. This expansion will accomplish the dual purpose of building the Superseal brand, while improving distribution efficiency through consolidated shipping of Hurd and Superseal products."
