Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, acquired CST, a regional manufacturer of lawn and garden products, including bagged and bulk mulches and soils.
Elk River, Minn.-based CST supplies lawn and garden products to retail and independent customers throughout the midwestern United States. According to Oldcastle, CST’s product offerings fit into APG’s existing product portfolio, strengthening manufacturing capabilities and improving regional product availability.
“Our lawn and garden business has experienced exponential growth fueled by increasing the demand in the home remodeling space,” Oldcastle APG president Tim Ortman said in a news release. “The acquisition of CST supports the strategic growth plans of our lawn and garden segment by enhancing our ability to meet the needs of customers throughout the midwest region.”
The acquisition of CST was finalized in late December 2020. Recently, Oldcastle APG has expanded through purchases of manufacturers in the landscape materials and concrete product categories. Oldcastle APG has acquired lawn and garden products manufacturer B&B Bedding, mulch manufacturer Buckeye Resources, Allied Concrete Products, Abbotsford Concrete Products, and US Mix since the beginning of 2020.
Oldcastle APG is a provider of outdoor living and building materials, with its product offerings including concrete masonry, hardscapes, bagged dry mixes, lawn and garden, and composite decking. The company’s portfolio includes Sakrete concrete mixes, Amerimix mortars, and Belgard hardscapes.
