Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, acquired B&B Bedding, a regional manufacturer of lawn and garden products. Oldcastle APG said the company fits into its existing portfolio, providing additional depth to its manufacturing capabilities and product offerings.
B&B Bedding’s lawn and garden products are derived from recycled valued woods and natural resources to deliver environmentally safe products. The company, founded in 1984, specializes in manufacturing bagged and bulk mulches and soils from facilities in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and McLean, Ill. B&B Bedding supplies retail and independent customers throughout the midwest region of the United States.
“We look forward to enhancing APG’s geographic footprint to better service our customers throughout the midwest with the acquisition of B&B Bedding,” Oldcastle APG president Tim Ortman said in a news release. “In addition to its manufacturing capabilities and industry experience, the company’s product offering fits seamlessly with ours and will strengthen and complement our position in the lawn and garden segment.”
Oldcastle APG’s acquisition of B&B Bedding follows a string of several purchases in both the landscape materials and concrete products categories. Oldcastle APG acquired mulch manufacturer Buckeye Resources, Allied Concrete Products, Abbotsford Concrete Products, and US MIX in 2020. While growing its scale, Oldcastle APG said it remains focused on broadening its scope and enhancing its product offerings to serve customers in their local markets.
Oldcastle APG is a provider of outdoor living and building materials, with its product offerings including concrete masonry, hardscapes, bagged dry mixes, lawn and garden, and composite decking. The company’s portfolio includes Sakrete concrete mixes, Amerimix mortars, and Belgard hardscapes.
