Georgia-Pacific announced the company's Clarendon OSB facility will be expanding and installing upgraded equipment after a $4.5 million investment. The investment will cover the expansion of the facility to include a new 30,000 square-foot warehouse, an updated laminating line, and additional equipment, according to a news release from the company.

Building material manufacturer Georgia-Pacific has seven manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, including its OSB facility located in Clarendon County. Geogria-Pacific has invested more than $6 million in capital at the Clarendon OSB facility in the past years, allowing the plant to enter an automated digital operating platform.

"Adding to our digital platform raises the technical knowledge bar for current and future employees. Raising the bar also puts us on a similar footing with other high-tech manufacturers in our region - so we can successfully compete for the same qualified workforce," said Clarendon OSB plant manager Tobey Elgin.

The Clarendon County OSB facility manufactures Georgia-Pacific's OSB products, including Blue Ribbon-rated sheathing and sub-floor, ThermostatOSB radiant barrier sheathing, and DryGuard-enhanced OSB sub-floor.
