Boise Cascade announced Nate Jorgensen will become the company’s new CEO, effective March 6, 2020. Jorgensen will replace current CEO Tom Corrick, who is retiring from his roles as CEO and director after nearly 37 years with Boise Cascade. Jorgensen will also assume Corrick’s seat in Boise Cascade’s board of directors.

“It is a privilege to lead this organization and our 6,100 talented associates,” Jorgensen said in a news release. “I share our senior leadership’s passion for operational excellence, strategic market growth and exceptional customer service. By leveraging our integrated business model, we are well positioned to focus on the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Jorgensen has 33 years of experience in the forest products industry and joined the Boise Cascade engineered wood products marketing team in 2015. Jorgensen was promoted to senior vice president to lead the engineered wood products sales and marketing organization in 2017 and was named COO of the company in January 2019. In the role, Jorgensen was responsible for overseeing the wood products and building materials division of Boise Cascade. Jorgensen was also recently named to the board of directors for the American Wood Council.

Corrick began with Boise Cascade in 1980 as an internal auditor. The outgoing senior executive advanced to hold numerous leadership roles, culminating in his appointment as CEO in March 2015. Corrick has served on several advisory committees and boards, including his recent appointment to the board of directors for the Salt Lake City branch of the Federal Reserve of San Francisco.

“On behalf of Boise Cascade, I want to thank Tom for his outstanding contributions and lasting legacy on the company and the industry,” said Tom Carlile, board chair. “Our deliberate succession planning process has enabled us to ensure a seamless transition. Nate has a well-established reputation and embodies personal values consistent with the core values of our company.”
