Kodiak Building Partners announced an internal promotion and the creation of a new leadership position within its organizational structure. The company promoted Allen Prough to the role of president of Factory Builder Stores (FBS), effective January 1, 2021. Additionally, Kodiak appointed Kelly Fox to the newly created role of president of Kodiak Building Partners Pacific Northwest.

Prough joined FBS in 2018 and served as the vice president of sales and marketing. In his previous role, he oversaw the financial aspects of FBS and maintained awareness of both internal and external opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments, and standards.

“Factory Builder Stores has a 33-year history of being the best choice of builders for appliances and cabinets in Texas,” Prough said in a news release. “My goal is to continue the tradition of excellence that Doug Rapier has built. I am excited about the future and the team we have in place.”

Prior to joining FBS, Prough served as a national sales manager for the Whirlpool Corporation where he provided direction and programming to over 60 market managers across the U.S. and managed Whirlpool’s largest single and multifamily builders. Prough also worked in numerous roles with GE Appliances, eventually working his way to the role of key account manager.

Texas-based FBS was acquired by Kodiak in 2014, with Doug Rapier continuing to serve as the company’s president. Rapier also currently serves as the president of the Kodiak Interiors Group, which includes FBS, Arizona Wholesale Supply, and Specialty Appliance.

The role of president for the Pacific Northwest is designed to expand the company’s success in the region. Fox joined Frontier Building Supply in 2019 and served as the president of the company until his promotion. Prior to joining Frontier, Fox was the CEO/trustee of Lumber Traders. In his role, Fox will have overall responsibility for the management staff at Frontier and work closely with Wade Gardner and his team at Builders Alliance, according to Kodiak.

“Kelly has demonstrated outstanding leadership at Frontier, and I am very excited to have him lead and grow our family of Kodiak companies in the Pacific Northwest,” executive vice president of operations Pat Flood said in a prepared statement.

Highland Ranch, Co.-based Kodiak Building Partners operates more than 80 locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The specialty dealer ranked 11th on the 2020 ProSales 100 list.
