Merrimack Valley Wood Products, a supplier of residential and commercial millwork based in Derry, N.H., is now part of Jackson Lumber & Millwork. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The companies will do business under the Jackson name. All manufacturing and assembly will be done at Jackson's Raymond, NH facility.

Jackson Lumber & Millwork, based in Lawrence, Mass., operates five locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and is one of New England's largest LBM suppliers.

"Bringing together the expertise of both organizations will undoubtedly put us at the forefront of selling both residential and commercial millwork and hardware to professional builders in Eastern Massachusetts, all of New Hampshire and Southern Maine," Al Torrisi, president of Jackson Lumber & Millwork, said in a prepared statement.

"Integrating some of the Merrimack Valley Wood Products staff, equipment, inventory, and most importantly, their many fine customers, will result in an economy of scale that will give us the competitive edge in the marketplace," Torrisi added.

"We look forward to this transition with the Jackson team," said Jim Derderian, executive vice president of Merrimack Valley Wood Products. "This is a strong family business with an excellent business sense and a commitment to the industry and community."

Christian Derderian, of Merrimack Valley Wood Products, and a member of the Derderian family, which owned Merrimack, will lead a newly formed commercial millwork division for Jackson.

Merrimack has been a family-owned business for 60 years.
