More than half of homeowners who were in the midst of home renovation projects mid-March when the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was declared were able to continue their renovations, according to a new report from Houzz. The survey of nearly 1,000 homeowners found that only 1% of respondents cancelled an ongoing project as a result of COVID-19. Two in five homeowners who put their projects on hold felt their renovation project was not urgent and could resume at a later date.
According to Houzz, home offices and master bedroom projects were least likely to be paused during the pandemic. Outdoor projects continued for three in five homeowners while master bathroom and kitchen remodels continued for more than half of homeowners during the global health crisis.
