Home Depot announced the winners of its annual innovation awards, which recognize suppliers that deliver new products that make projects easier and more efficient for its DIY and pro customers.
The overall winner for 2021 is the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless Framing Nailer from Milwaukee Tool, which saves time by firing three nails per second with zero ramp-up time without the hassle of a compressor and hose or gas cartridge.
Home Depot awarded Hubspace - Powered by Afero as the first runner up. Hubspace makes building a reliable smart home simple with an intuitive platform and products including lighting, fans, and outlets, according to Home Depot. The app, which requires no hub or extra equipment, provides access from anywhere via a smart device and an internet connection.
The Pergo Defense+ line of waterproof and antimicrobial flooring was awarded as the second runner up in the 2021 Innovation Awards program. The flooring prohibits the growth of microbes that cause mold, mildew, and odors with a natural silver ion embedded into its surface.
“It’s incredible how our suppliers continue to make home improvement easier, safer, and even more fun by applying the latest technologies to common tools and household products in every category across the store and online,” Jeff Kinnaird, executive vice president of merchandising for The Home Depot, said in a prepared statement. “Our annual Innovation Awards ceremony recognizes the remarkable work that goes into providing these new, innovative, and exclusive products to our customers at the best value.”
In addition to the top three winners, Home Depot recognized several finalists for high marks in product innovation, including: Andersen LuminAire, Commercial Electric Premium LED Canless Recessed Lighting, Everbilt Ventilated Wire Closet System, LG Washtower, Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Products, and SimpleDrain.
In addition to the Innovation Awards, Home Depot recognized Ryobi as its Interconnected Partner of the Year and Kohler as its Marketing Innovation Partner of the Year, and awarded MSI with its Supplier Diversity Innovation Award.
