Home-improvement retailer Home Depot launched an expanded version of its Pro Xtra loyalty program, which now includes benefits to recognize and reward its professional customers. Pro Xtra members can now earn rewards by shopping at The Home Depot, with the ability to unlock and redeem Perks via the retailer’s mobile app.

Each time Pro Xtra members unlock a Perk, they can choose from options including Tool Rental Perks and Pro Xtra Dollars. Users can also receive surprise Bonus Perks simply from having a membership. Home Depot said the expanded rewards system for the Pro Xtra program was created based on direct customer feedback. The updated Pro Xtra platform now provides a more personalized in-store and online experience, according to the retailer.

The Pro Xtra program also includes a mobile-first design to allow members to track purchases and see savings in real-time by using their Pro Xtra Virtual ID in the app at in-store checkout.

“Today’s pro customer is more connected than ever, and we’re always looking for ways to meet their needs as they engage digitally and on the go,” Adolfo Villagomez, Home Depot senior vice president of online and the retailer’s chief marketing officer, said in a news release. “In today’s business environment, saving time and money has never been more critical. Our goal with the expanded Pro Xtra program is to further support pros as they manage and grow their businesses.”

Originally launched in 2012, Pro Xtra offers members benefits with exclusive offers, paint rewards, volume pricing, purchase tracking, and purchase authorization via text.
