DesignOneSource, the new specification division of Hardwoods Distribution Inc. (HDI), has officially launched. The division is organized to provide the design and millwork community seamless specification support for decorative surface materials across North America by aligning global suppliers and front-of-trend interior decor products that adhere to the highest environmental standards, according to HDI. OneDesignSource is supported by a vast internal information network which provides instant access to design inspiration, trend insight, vendor coordination, training, and technical product support.
“The primary objective of the new service is to stimulate demand across North America for our decorative panels and lumber products, then channel those opportunities towards our customer base,” Todd Graham, DesignOneSource North American specification manager, said in a news release. “Two years ago, we determined that the industry was evolving and needed a different type of support than was currently being provided. So we went back to the drawing board and created a new program totally focused on service the needs of the architect and design client base based on today’s conditions.
The DesignOneSource specification team includes 15 industry professionals, according to the news release. The service includes product offerings from HDI’s 66 distribution centers that represent materials from Rugby Architectural Building Products, Hardwoods Specialty Products, and Paxton Lumber. HDI said DesignOneSource provides over 500,000 SKUs that are integrated with real time material tracking, order processing, and inventory status.
The OneDesignSource website provides project imagery, documents, tools, and support services. It includes a series of “accelerators” to reduce navigation to a single click for access to sample ordering or personalized product presentation.
