The number of women employed in the construction industry rose significantly to 1.1 million in 2018, a level reached prior to the Great Recession, according to the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Eye on Housing blog. Data from the Current Population Survey indicates that female employment in the construction industry rose 13% between 2017 and 2018 and the share of women in construction reached 9.9%.
