Do it Best named Allison Meyer as the company’s director of communications, effective immediately.

“I’m excited to step into this leadership role and look forward to further extending our ability to educate and inform many audiences about the value that Do it Best brings to the independent home improvement channel,” Meyer said.

In the role, Meyer will lead a team focused on communicating the Do it Best story, which includes highlighting the programs, services, and solutions that help retailers drive greater sales and profitability through their co-op partnership. Additionally, Meyer will manage the company’s strategies for internal and external communications, media relations, social media, and digital and print publications.

Meyer most recently served as Do it Best’s communication manager and has worked in the company’s communications department since 2018. Prior to joining Do it Best, Meyer worked at an advertising agency on vendor accounts associated with Do it Best products.

“In her nearly five years with the company, Allison has played a key role in developing and delivering outstanding communication plans for a number of initiatives and projects large and small,” vice president of marketing Rich Lynch said. “Allison has brought even greater discipline to our communications approach and will serve us well as we move forward with our bold growth plans.”

Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Do it Best is a member-owned hardware, lumber, and building materials buying cooperative. The company has annual sales surpassing $5 billion and serves thousands of member-owned locations across the United States.
