Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS), a specialty distributor of interior building products, opened six new greenfield locations and expanded the footprint of its AMES Taping Tools business with the opening of five new stores.
“Expanding our platform is one of the four key components of our growth strategy, and the team continues to execute well,” John Turner, president and CEO of GMS, said in a news release. “We are not only adding key geographies to our existing footprint and core product offerings, but we are also adding capacity to further accelerate growth of our complementary products, enhancing the selection, services, and value we provide to our customers.”
The six greenfield openings expand the distributor’s presence in several markets and mark the entrance into two top 100 metropolitan statistical areas, according to GMS. Greenfields in Fort Myers, Fla., and Milford, Ct., serve as the entrance into new top 100 MSAs for GMS. The Fort Myers branch represents the eighteenth GMS location servicing Florida.
Additionally, GMS opened greenfields in Abilene, Texas, Statesboro, Ga., Baltimore, Md., and Ocean Springs, Miss. The Ocean Springs branch is the second GMS location in Mississippi, following the distributor’s January 2021 greenfield in Jackson, Miss.
Following its acquisition of AMES in December 2021, GMS has opened locations under the brand name in Madison, Tenn., Houston, Texas, Pflugerville, Texas, Greenville, S.C., and Peoria, Ill. The distributor said it expects to add several additional near-term greenfield and AMES expansions.
Tucker, Ga.-based GMS operates a network of nearly 300 distribution centers across 46 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces, offering wallboard, suspended ceiling systems, and complementary construction products.
