Specialty distributor Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS) appointed Lisa Bachmann to serve as an independent member of the board of directors, effective January 29, 2020.
Bachmann has served as the executive vice president and chief merchandising and operating officer at discount retailer Big Lots since 2015. Prior to her current role, Bachmann served as the executive vice president and COO of the company from 2012 to 2015 and as executive vice president of supply chain management and chief information officer from 2010 to 2012. The incoming GMS board of directors member joined Big Lots as a senior vice president of merchandise planning, allocation, and presentation in 2002. Bachmann has also served in senior leadership roles for Ames Department Stores and Casual Corner Group.

Tucker, Ga.-based GMS operates a network of more than 250 distribution centers across the United States and Canada. The company’s product offerings include wallboard, suspended ceiling systems, and complementary construction products. GMS ranked as the 8th largest company on the 2019 ProSales 100 list.
