Cameron Ashley Building Products opened a building products distribution center in Lebanon, Pa. The location, named the Harrisburg distribution center after the state’s neighboring capital city, will also serve customers in Binghamton, N.Y., Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Bedford, Pa., Cumberland, Md., northern New Jersey, and surrounding local markets.
The Harrisburg distribution center will provide sales and inventory support for continued growth in roofing, insulation, and other building materials in a new market for the distributor. CertainTeed Roofing, Knauf Insulation, Lomanco Ventilation, Quality Aluminum Products, and Deckorators will be among the key suppliers for the Harrisburg distribution center. Jim Dell will serve as the manager for the new location.
“We are pleased to be once again expanding Cameron Ashley’s service area, this time in the Northeast,” regional vice president Tom Gaffey said in a press release. “With the addition of our new Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Distribution Center, we’ll have improved access to many of our existing customers, as well as the ability to serve many more in the area.”
The Greenville, S.C. distributor has opened distribution centers at a rapid rate in 2019. The Harrisburg location represents the seventh distribution center opened in the first eight months for the distributor. The company previously opened branches in Rocky Mount, N.C. and Macedonia, Ohio in January; a location in Columbia, S.C. in February; distribution centers in Phoenix, Ariz. and Las Vegas in June; and a branch in Houston in July.
Cameron Ashley, a company of Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, is a distributor of roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other specialty building products with more than 35 distribution centers nationwide. In addition to the six distribution center openings in 2019, Cameron Ashley also acquired St. Louis-based distributor Warrior Building Products in late January.
