Beacon continued its rapid expansion pace in 2023, announcing four new greenfield openings. The distributor opened stores in Ruskin, Fla.; Jackson, Tenn.; Killeen, Texas; and Tyler, Texas.

The Ruskin, Fla., branch is in Hillsborough County and part of the greater Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater market.

“This location adds further service for customers in our Tampa Beacon OTC network,” Jack Gill, regional vice president in Florida, said in a prepared statement. “We are pleased to open along the Interstate 75 corridor to optimize deliveries and increase convenience for contractors needing to pick up building materials for residential and commercial projects.”

The Jackon, Tenn., store is located between Nashville and Memphis. Brian Gibson, regional vice president of the south Atlantic, said the city is on a growth bath and Beacon believes its product range and digital tools will make it the supplier of choice for customers in the area.

The Killeen, Texas, branch will serve Fort Cavazos and the surrounding county while the Tyler, Texas, branch is dedicated to serving lumberyard customers.

“Our team has a long history of serving the government and military bases with products and specialized services they require,” Peter Lippert, Beacon’s regional vice president of Texas, said in a prepared statement. “We are proud to be adding this location [in Killeen] and supporting the U.S. Army and its contractors.”

Beacon has opened 14 greenfield locations to date, and anticipates opening at least 15 by the end of the year as part of its Ambition 2025 goals. The distributor has also completed four acquisitions in the calendar year thus far.

Herndon, Va.-based Beacon distributes roofing materials and complementary building products. The company operates over 490 branches throughout all 50 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces.
