
Boise Cascade's Building Materials Distribution segment boosted its income to $20 million in the first quarter, a 49% gain from the year-earlier period, on a 14% rise in sales to $815.7 million, BC reported today.
Sales volume climbed 9% in January through March compared with 2016, while prices for goods sold rose 5%. "By product line, commodity sales increased 12%, general line product sales increased 12%, and sales of EWP (substantially all of which are sourced through our Wood Products segment) increased 22%," the company said.
Gross margin percentage rose 20 basis points.
