Holbrook Lumber will distribute stainless steel railing systems manufacturer AGS Stainless’s Cascadia Bar Railing System. Holbrook will distribute the system primarily in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. Cascadia is a stainless steel bar railing system with a price similar to an aluminum railing system designed to install with minimal field modifications.
“The market for outdoor living products is resilient,” Kevin Harris, director of sales and marketing for AGS Stainless, said in a news release. “Building material dealers are reporting strong year-over-year sales in railing products. When you factor in that homeowners are increasingly interested in higher-quality deck and stair railing products, Cascadia is the right product at the right time.”
According to AGS, Cascadia railing system components can be pulled from dealer inventory and installed on the same day. The manufacturer said Cascadia is currently the only International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC ES)-approved metal railing system with a horizontal infill, allowing for immediate acceptance by the vast majority of building departments.
“Prior to Cascadia, if you wanted a stainless railing system for your deck, and you wanted it fabricated to the industry’s highest standard of quality, it often meant hiring a local metal fabricator,” Harris said. “So, where a typical stainless railing system might require a number of weeks for the metal fabricator to complete the entire design, permit approval, fabrication, and installation process — Cascadia allows almost everyone to quickly and affordably add the durability and timeless beauty of a stainless steel railing system to their home.”
Guilderland Center, N.Y.-based Holbrook Lumber, founded in 1911, distributes lumber and building materials to independent retail lumberyards throughout the northeast. The company operates a sales and distribution center along with a pressure treating manufacturing plant in Colonie, N.Y.
Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based AGS Stainless manufacturers stainless steel railing systems. In addition to the Cascadia Railing System, AGS also manufactures the Clearview line of railing systems.
