US LBM announced it acquired John H. Myers and Son, a six location dealer based out of York, Pa., on Tuesday. The acquisition now brings the number of US LBM-owned building product dealers and distributors up to 10 with 41 locations spread across 10 states in the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic. The acquisition also merges the No. 14 and No. 49 companies on this year's ProSales 100 listing.
John H. Myers and Son has operations throughout south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. The acquisition will provide the company with capital and back office support.
"For this last six years I have enjoyed leading the Myers team of highly respected building products sales and service professionals," said John H. Myers and Son president Bob Wood. "I look forward to leveraging the knowledge of L.T. Gibson and the other operating company presidents within US LBM that will allow us to enhance its range of solutions for our customers."
US LBM said it was interested in acquiring the company "due to its leading position as a partner to custom and regional homebuilders as well as professional remodelers." As will all US LBM-owned dealers, John H. Myers and Son will continue to operate under its current brand name and will keep the same workforce and operations.
"The Myers family has established a terrific reputation in the building products industry," said US LBM CEO L.T. Gibson. "Their customer base, product breadth, and superior service model all align nicely with our strategic profile. We are excited about their growth potential going forward."
As mentioned earlier, US LBM is ranked No. 14 on the latest ProSales 100 listing with 2010 sales of $269.5 million. John H. Myers and Son was ranked No. 49 with $52.3 million in sales during 2010.
