Building materials distributor U.S. LBM has acquired Maine-based Deering Lumber, the company announced in a press release. With the deal, the company now has five locations throughout Maine.

Deering Lumber is a three-unit distributor serving custom home builders and remodelers across Maine and New Hampshire. Deering Lumber president C.D. Armstrong will continue to lead the brand, according to the press release.

"A strong customer base, diverse product offering and team focused on customer relationships make Deering Lumber an ideal addition to our family of companies," U.S. LBM president and CEO L.T. Gibson said. "By adding a market leader in Deering Lumber, we're expanding our reach and customer base in the coastal New England residential construction and renovation market.

U.S. LBM, based in Buffalo Grove, Ill., is the 6th biggest company in the ProSales 100. The distributor did $3.1 billion in sales last year, with 97% in the pro market, and operates more than 240 locations nationally.
