SRS Acquisition Corp. announced today it will open on Aug. 16 a roofing store in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Ga., to be called Atlanta Roofing Supply and will gave the same name to its other Atlanta-area facility, Atlanta South Supply. The addition will be the 39th location for what is now America's 14th biggest pro-oriented construction supply company.

The Marietta location will sell residential and commercial roofing products out of 20,000 square feet of warehouse space and 3 acres of outside storage. It will serve central and northern Atlanta. Chad Stanton, previously from Owens Corning, will be branch manager.

"It was strategically important for us to add a second location in this large market to service the entire city properly and also to develop a new brand that was appropriate for our expanded coverage area," SRS Acquisition chief operating officer Dan Tinker said in a news release.

McKinney, Texas-based SRS Acquisition operates 39 locations in 13 states under 10 different corporate names. It ranked 15th on the latest ProSales 100 list of America's biggest LBM operations, with 2009 sales of $240 million,m all of them to pros. Since then, former No. 2 ABC Supply's takeover of former No. 4 Bradco Supply has caused SRS to move into 14th place.
