SRS Acquisition Corp., the fast-growing roofing specialty firm, announced today it is opening a new Roofline Supply location in Bakersfield, Calif., as the first step of "significant growth" it plans in Southern California.
The new branch is the fifth store that McKinney, Texas-based SRS has opened or acquired this year. With Bakersfield, it now has 47 facilities in 18 states operating under 12 different names. Roofline Supply is the name it uses for its operations in California and Oregon. Mike Brinsfield, a 24-year veteran of the Bakersfield market, will serve as manager.
"This is an important expansion for SRS as the first step of our strategy for significant growth into the Southern California markets," Dan Tinker, SRS' chief operating officer, said in a statement. "Starting with Mike Brinsfield and his team, and by adding other great teams in new markets along with strategic acquisitions, we are determined to establish a strong presence in the Southern California markets, including both Los Angeles and San Diego. We believe this region will be very successful as the area comes out of the economic downturn and reclaims its status as one of the largest economies in the world."
In March, SRS opened a new location in Annapolis, Md., under the Superior Distribution name; acquied State Shingle Co. in Oakland, Calif.; and opened in San Antonio its ninth facility under the Southern Shingles name.
