SRS Acquisition Corp. acquired Century Building Supply, a roofing, siding, and millwork distributor servicing the northern Illinois area. The announcement comes a week after SRS opened two new locations, in Hartford, Conn. and Joplin, Mo., and acquired a roofing supply company in Tulsa, Okla.

Century Building Supply, with locations in Rockland and Sycamore, Ill., will continue to operate under the Century name and will keep its entire sales and management staffs. Owner Ken Wolowiec will serve as branch manager and the company will operate under SRS' Midwest division.

"We are very excited to welcome the employees of Century Building Supply to our growing family of independent companies," said SRS CEO Ron Ross. "Century compliments our existing geographic footprint in the Chicago metro area and really opens up our expansion opportunities to reach into Wisconsin in the coming years."

SRS is currently ranked No. 13 on our 2011 ProSales 100 listing with sales of $343 million during 2010. The company now operates 54 locations in 22 states under names such as Southern Shingle, Pace Supply, and Superior Distribution.

Last week the company expanded its Southern Shingle line by acquiring Alley Roofing Supply in Tulsa, Okla. and opening a new location in Joplin, Mo. The company last week also announced the opening of a greenfield location in Hartford, Conn., under the Pace Supply name.
