SRS Distribution announced today it acquired Roofers Supply & Service / Petry Roofing Supply of Fenton, Mo. SRS will rename Roofers Supply as Shake & Shingle Supply, thus having it join two other Shake & Shingle outlets already serving the St. Louis market.

Charlie Robertson, the majority owner of Roofers Supply, as well as his entire operations team will remain at the Fenton branch, SRS said in a news release. "Roofers Supply & Service will make an ideal addition to our Central region operations and allows us to properly service the Greater St. Louis market from the South side," Dan Tinker, SRS' president and chief operating officer, said.

Today's news means McKinney, Texas-based SRS ow operates 140 locations in 37 states under 21 names. Earlier this month, SRS opened two new Southern Shingles locations in La Marque and Weslaco, Texas. The La Marque store is the company's fifth location serving the Houston market, while the Welaco store is the first to serve the Rio Grande Valley.

On Jan. 19, SRS announced it had reached an agreement to acquire B&L Wholesale Supply, a Rochester, N.Y.-based distributor of roofing and related residential and commercial building products, supplies and services.
