SRS Acquisition Corp., one of the nation's fastest-growing construction supply companies, announced today its second strategic move this week: the acquisition of Builders Prime Window and Supply Co. of Bridgeport, Pa.

SRS will rename and fold Builders Prime into the same operation that runs four Pace Supply stores already in the Keystone State. Builders Prime, founded in 1962 and currently employing 14 people, serves builders, roofing contractors, and remodeling contractors in the Philadelphia market.

The announcement comes three days after McKinney, Texas-based SRS announced it will open on Aug. 16 a roofing store in the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Ga., to be called Atlanta Roofing Supply. It also will give the same name to its other Atlanta-area facility, Atlanta South Supply. (Story).

"Builders Prime allows us to fill in a hole in our local area geography and also provides us with greater diversity with their strength in the new construction segment," SRS chief executive officer Ron Ross said in a statement. "We plan to focus on roofing and windows in this new location, but the branch will have access to all of the products that Pace currently offers in their other four branches immediately."

Builders Prime owner Russell Lyons will retain two other business interests: one in nasonry supply and the other an installed sales business that was formerly part of Builders Prime.

With the acquisition, SRS will operate 40 locations in 13 states under 10 different corporate names. It ranked 15th on the latest ProSales 100 list of America's biggest LBM operations, with 2009 sales of $240 million--double its 2008 sales. Since then, former No. 2 ABC Supply's takeover of former No. 4 Bradco Supply has caused SRS to move into 14th place.
