SRS Distribution added two more branches in South Carolina and another in North Carolina today with its acquisition of Atlantic Roofing Distributors.
The firm will continue to operate under that name under the leadership of General Manager Bill Kirk and the existing sales and operations team, SRS said.
SRS already had three stores in South Carolina carrying the Superior Distribution label, but only one was on the coast, in the Charleston area. Atlantic Roofing's units are in North Charleston and Myrtle Beach, S.C., as well as a few counties inland and just north of the border in Fair Bluff, N.C. Meanwhile, Superior Distribution has stores north of the acquisition, in Wilmington, N.C., and Virginia Beach, Va., as well as south of Atlantic Roofing in Savannah, Ga., and Jacksonville, Fla.
"increasing our presence and scale in the Carolinas has been a priority for some time and Atlantic was at the top of our list of all prospects for many years," SRS President and COO Dan Tinker said in a news release.
And Kirk added: "We chose SRS due to their reputation for allowing the companies they acquire to remain entrepreneurial. ... SRS plans to invest heavily in our business and surrounding markets and we will become stronger while also providing great opportunities for our long-time employees and loyal customers."
