Nation’s Best acquired Palmetto Home Center’s two locations near Charleston, S.C. Co-owners Brandt Mitchell and Donnie Canaday, as well as Donnie’s son, Jamie Canaday, will continue with Palmetto Home Center post-acquisition, according to Nation’s Best.

“As Nation’s Best expands its presence across the country, partnering with the team at Palmetto Home Center makes perfect sense,” Chris Miller, president and CEO of Nation’s Best, said in a news release. “Owners Donnie Canaday and Brandt Mitchell are exceptional business leaders and we’re thrilled that they’ll stay on with Nation’s Best. Together, we’re well-aligned to drive substantial growth in the greater Charleston market.”

As part of Nation’s Best’s strategy, Palmetto Home Center will maintain operations under its existing brand name with its key leadership team overseeing company operations. Nation’s Best will provide the strategic and financial support necessary to drive optimal growth and profitability.

“Our team is proud of our success in serving the needs of the Lowcountry,” Mitchell and the Canadays said in a joint statement. “Partnering with Nation’s Best is the logical next step in our growth. We’re excited by the opportunities to build on our strengths and continue to grow the business alongside our new partner.”

Nation’s Best, founded in 2019, is a member-owner of Do it Best Corp., a U.S. based hardware, lumber, and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry.
