Nation’s Best acquired five-united Connolly’s Do it Best Hardware & Rental in Fort Wayne, Ind. Connolly’s Do it Best Hardware & Rental will continue to operate under its existing brand name and its key leadership team will remain intact to oversee the company alongside Nation’s Best. Nation’s best will also provide the strategic and financial support necessary to achieve “optimal growth and profitability” for Connolly’s Do it Best Hardware & Rental, according to a news release.
“We are thrilled to welcome Connolly’s Do it Best Hardware & Rental into the Nation’s Best family and are committed to continuing to provide the best level of service and support to Connolly’s customers and staff,” Chris Miller, president and CEO of Nation’s Best, said in a prepared statement. “Since 198, the Connolly’s team has built an exceptional reputation among DIYers and contractors throughout northeast Indiana and they are a great strategic fit for our expanding company.”
Nation’s Best, founded in 2019, is a member-owner of Do it Best Corp., a U.S.-based hardware, lumber, and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry.

Nation’s Best now operates six divisions and 17 locations across four states. The company has expanded through acquisitions in 2020, acquiring three-unit Groom & Sons’ and Lambert Lumber in February, five-unit Bridgeport Building Centers in March, one-unit Hall’s Hardware in July, and two-unit Simms Lumber in October.
