Nation’s Best acquired two California companies, Calaveras Lumber and Sonora Lumber.

As part of Nation’s Best’s strategy, Calaveras Lumber and Sonora Lumber will maintain operations under their existing brand names, with key leadership team members overseeing company operations alongside Nation’s Best. Nation’s Best will provide the strategic and financial support necessary to drive optimal growth and profitability, according to the company.

“This part of California is steeped in history—from the early days of the Gold Rush to the origins of a classic Mark Twain story,” Chris Miller, president and CEO of Nation’s Best, said in a news release. “As we establish our presence in the state, it’s an appealing area to put down our roots. Calaveras Lumber and Sonora Lumber are well-run building material and hardware stores that are positioned for growth as they serve their communities.”

Nation’s Best, founded in 2019, is a member-owner of Do it Best Corp., a U.S. based hardware, lumber, and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry.
