Mead Lumber Company purchased Component Manufacturing Company and Reaves Buildings of Sioux Falls, S.D. Component Manufacturing Company is a truss fabrication facility that manufactures trusses, wall panels, and floor joists while Reaves Buildings designs, builds, and supplies engineered buildings. Both have been servicing South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska since 1973.

“Joining the Mead Lumber family marks a new chapter for everyone at Component Manufacturing Company and Reaves Buildings,” Jeff Thue, president of the companies said in a news release. “Mead Lumber’s unique approach truly aligned with our aspirations. Their 100% employee-owned structure and deep-rooted community values reflect our own. This brings the ability to bring a larger offering to our customers, continue growth, and the same customer-focused service.”

Both companies will continue to operate under their respective brand names following the transaction. The current management team under Jeff Thue will continue to lead the day-to-day operations at booth Component Manufacturing Company and Reaves Building Systems.
