Lowe's will bring Porch.com's online home improvement network to 139 of its stores across North and South Carolina and Seattle, the company announced today.
Porch, which launched last September after raising $6.25 million in startup funds, connects consumers to a free database of professionals like handymen, painters, and landscapers. Lowe’s will use Porch.com to supplement its installed sales services. If a Lowe's can’t find a home improvement contractor for a customer, they'll consult the Porch database through handheld devices or in-store computers to find a professional. And they'll have plenty of professionals to choose from—Porch keeps tabs on more than 1.5 million workers nationwide.
"Working with Porch is another great example of how Lowe's supports our customers throughout every step of the home improvement journey," said Jay Rebello, Lowe's vice president of new business development and corporate innovation in the company's press release today.
Note: PROSALES' parent company, Hanley Wood, has a business relationship with Porch.
