Kodiak Building Partners announced the acquisition of Fremont, Neb.-based Christensen Lumber. Christensen Lumber, founded in 1923, ranked 69th on the 2018 version of the ProSales 100, operates two locations in Fremont, Neb., and Elkhorn, Neb., and generated $70.8 million in sales in 2017.

“I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to join the Christensen family in serving their midwestern markets,” Steve Swinney, Kodiak’s CEO said in a public statement. “We feel fortunate to partner with such a fine company and its exceptional employees.”

Christensen Lumber’s president, Tom Christensen, will remain in this role after the acquisition. Christensen will also become part of the ownership group of Kodiak. Christensen Lumber will join the Building Materials Group at Kodiak Building Partners and will be under the direction of Mark Garboski, according to a news release from Kodiak.

After the acquisition, Highlands Ranch, Co.-based Kodiak Building Partners operates more than 70 locations across 12 states. Kodiak ranked 12th on the 2018 ProSales 100 list after an expansive year of growth. The specialty dealer completed five deals in 2018, most recently its acquisition of six-unit Washington-based Frontier Building Supply.
