Hayward Lumber has acquired the assets of Buena Tool Company in Santa Barbara, Calif. Hayward Lumber has had a presence in Santa Barbara since its purchase of County Lumber in 2000 and currently Hayward’s Santa Barbara location neighbors the newly purchased Buena Tool Company.

“We’re excited to have Buena Tool and their employees be part of the Hayward Lumber family. Our company has grown up on the Central Coast and we are proud to be a part of its history,” fourth-generation owner Bill Hayward, CEO and CIO of Hayward Lumber, said in a public statement. “My great grandfather understood customer service. He said to treat your customers right and they will always come back.”

Buena Tool will retain its staff after the acquisition to ensure a smooth experience for customers. Hayward Lumber will hold a grand opening celebration with national brand vendors in early 2020.

Monterey, Calif.-based Hayward Lumber has been supplying lumber and building materials to builders in California since it was founded in 1919. The company was ranked 49th on the 2019 ProSales 100, generating $138.5 million in sales in 2018.
