Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS) announced several platform expansions, including four greenfield openings, five AMES store openings, and the acquisition of Construction Supply of Southwest Florida.

“We are excited to announce the acquisition of Construction Supply of Southwest Florida, and we welcome the team to the GMS family,” John Turner, president and CEO of GMS, said in a news release. “This acquisition, along with the establishment of four new greenfield locations and five new AMES stores, represent continued execution of our growth strategy through platform expansion and our focus on growing our Complementary Products.”

Sarasota, Fla.-based Construction Supply of Southwest Florida (CSSWF) is a distributor of various stucco, building, and waterproofing supplies serving the Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, and North Port local markets in Florida, with broader outreach to the Tampa and Ft. Myers markets. GMS said the acquisition further expands the distributor’s Complementary Product offerings and establishes an inaugural stucco-focused location in the state of Florida.

GMS said CSSWF founder Laura Strub and the entire team will continue with the business post-acquisition and the company will operate under its existing brand name. CSSWF will partner with the legacy GMS brand, Gator Gypsum, a specialty building products distributor in central and southwestern Florida, to provide additional Complementary Product offerings across the region.

Additionally, GMS announced greenfield openings in Woburn, Mass.; Wildwood, Fla.; Cleveland, Ohio; and West Union, S.C. The Massachusetts greenfield will become the ninth location for the New England Gypsum Supply brand, expanding services and capabilities across New England and the broader Northeast market, according to GMS. The Florida branch becomes the fourteenth Gator Gypsum location and helps expand service for GMS in northern Florida into the Wildwood metro. The Cleveland location will operate as Ohio Valley Drywall Supply and will complement GMS’s recent acquisition of Architectural Coatings Distributors. The South Carolina branch will operate as Tucker Materials and will service the upstate South Carolina area.

GMS is also expanding its AMES platform with five new locations in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; Pensacola, Fla.; North Charleston, S.C.; Ocala, Fla.; and Durham, N.C.

Tucker, Ga.-based GMS operates a network of nearly 300 distribution centers across 46 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces, offering wallboard, suspended ceiling systems, and complementary construction products.
